How to use the sanitiser
  1. Start with a short excerpt, up to 8,000 characters. AI suggests names, companies and places to replace; pattern checks cover email, phone, IPv4, card numbers, IBANs, UK National Insurance numbers and NHS numbers.
  2. Review the suggestions. Use Replacements to correct anything missed, add extra terms or choose your own labels.
  3. Check the full prepared text, confirm you have reviewed it, then copy it for your AI tool.

For a document, check and correct the extracted text before choosing Use this text. This prepares its words; it does not change the original document.

For a PNG or JPEG, paste or add the image here. Use Auto blackout text to cover whole OCR lines containing detected private details. Review the image, restore any areas you want to keep and draw additional boxes before downloading a new PNG.

To prepare the words from an image instead, choose Extract text, check and correct the words, then choose Use this text for the preparation workflow.

Keep replacement labels unchanged in replies. Restore reply uses the mappings from this browser session; review restored text before copying.

First use and longer drafts

AI checks run in this browser. First use downloads an AI model of about 83 MB from Vaze, plus its supporting files. Allow time for it to load. Longer drafts need more processing; use a shorter excerpt if a check takes too long.

The standalone image redactor is also available. For company guidance, use the company AI policy template.
